Brand Development Manager

We are seeking a Brand Development Manager who is responsible for the strategic direction, marketing execution, and overall performance of an assigned portfolio of brands. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, shaping how each brand is taken to market, driving its revenue and profitability, and building strong, long-term relationships with internal teams and external partners.
The successful candidate will be commercially astute and results-oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. They will be expected to think like a business owner, take initiative, and continuously identify opportunities to strengthen and grow the portfolio. In addition, the candidate should handle product innovation, brand sourcing, and licensing arrangements as they arise, while maintaining the integrity and consistency of every brand under their care.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute annual brand plans for each brand in the portfolio, covering positioning, pricing, channel strategy, marketing activation, and commercial targets, with the goal of growing market share and strengthening brand visibility.
· Own each brand’s P&L, driving revenue, margin, and marketing ROI to consistently deliver against agreed commercial targets.
· Plan and execute marketing campaigns, in-store activations, roadshows, and product launches across all relevant channels, working with internal teams and external partners to bring each brand to life.
· Develop pricing, promotional, and trade marketing strategies to maximise profitability and competitiveness across channels.
· Partner closely with the sales team to expand distribution, secure listings, and drive sell-out across retail, modern trade, e-commerce, HoReCa, B2B channels, etc., across both existing and new territories.
· Lead new product launches, range extensions, and innovation initiatives to grow the portfolio and unlock new revenue streams.
· Identify and assess new brand sourcing and licensing opportunities as they arise, including distribution rights for new brands and territory or category exclusivity arrangements with existing principals, to strengthen and grow the portfolio over time.
· Build and manage strong relationships with brand principals, suppliers, agencies, and other external partners.
· Safeguard brand consistency, integrity, and quality across all touchpoints, ensuring brand guidelines are upheld at every level.
· Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to inform brand and category strategy.
· Track, analyse, and report brand and portfolio performance to leadership, with clear recommendations to drive sustainable growth.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
· 5+ years of brand management experience, ideally across multiple brands.
· Experience preferably within FMCG, food & beverage, or consumer goods import/distribution.
· Proven track record of growing brands, expanding distribution, and driving sales performance.
· Hands-on experience executing marketing campaigns, activations, and on-ground events such as roadshows and product launches.
· Strong commercial acumen — comfortable with P&L, pricing, and margin management.
· Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.
· Excellent project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
· Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
· Experience working in cross-functional teams.
· Familiarity with brand licensing, distribution agreements, or principal negotiations is an advantage.
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
