CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST for INTRAMUROS CAMPUS (STAFF POSITION)

• Responsible for assisting the Head of Global Sustainability in the implementation of Mapúa University’s mission to advance sustainable development through innovative education, interdisciplinary research, and collaborative partnerships.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the implementation of the comprehensive strategic plan for Mapúa Institute for Global Sustainability (Mapúa IGS).
• Assists in overseeing the delivery of high-quality educational programs in sustainability, including undergraduate and graduate courses, workshops, and executive training programs.
• Oversees the implementation of the interdisciplinary sustainability-themed research initiatives.
• Participates in developing and executing strategies to address various sustainability issues on the campus, including energy use, resource conservation, waste management, pollution control, education, and sustainable development goals awareness.
• Systematically collects and reports data related to sustainability programs.
• Communicates sustainable practices to the campus community and community partner

Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in any of the following disciplines: Sustainability, Sustainability Science, Sustainability Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Chemical Engineering, Urban Planning, Energy Engineering, Ecological Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• Expertise in any pillars of sustainability: environmental, human, economic, and social
• Capability to write research proposals and research papers for publication.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to using research and education to create a more just and sustainable future.
• Leadership experience in an academic or research setting, with a proven track record of managing interdisciplinary teams and complex projects.
• Willing to be trained and work off-campus.
