Communications and Content Manager
Role Overview
The Communications and Content Manager will lead the development and execution of the organization
communications function from the ground up. This role is responsible for shaping the organization’s
voice, producing high-level institutional content, and managing stakeholder communications across
government, development partners, and the public.
The role requires a strong institutional writer with the ability to operate in a complex, multi-stakeholder
environment while building scalable communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communications & Content Development
- Develop and execute communications strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Produce high-quality institutional content including press releases, briefing notes, reports, and stakeholder materials
- Draft executive communications for leadership positioning
2. Stakeholder & Government Engagement
- Lead communications for government and stakeholder engagements, DMA, and state-level stakeholder engagement, including written outreach, meeting briefings, and post-engagement reports
- Develop briefing materials, reports, and engagement documentation
- Support donor and development partner communications
3. Media Relations & Public Positioning
- Build and maintain media relationships across print, digital, and broadcast platforms
- Support media engagements, journalist briefings, and press events
- Position the organization as a leading voice in healthcare procurement
4. Content Planning & Execution
- Support development and execution of quarterly communications plans
- Produce impact reports, newsletters, and publications Ensure consistency in messaging across all channels
5. Vendor & Team Coordination
- Manage relationship with external vendors (designers, web teams, consultants)
- Provide guidance and editorial direction to the Digital and Media Officer
- Oversee quality and consistency of all communication outputs
6. Multimedia & Content Production
- Use design and content tools to produce communication assets
- Support development of presentations and visual materials
- Coordinate multimedia content production where required
Requirements
Experience
Must-Have
- 4–7 years experience in communications, public affairs, or related field
- Exceptional institutional writing and editing skills
- Demonstrable experience working in multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong understanding of public sector, healthcare, or development landscape in Nigeria
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience producing formal communications for senior stakeholders (government, NGOs,
- corporates)
- Working knowledge of design/content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical procurement, or development finance
- Prior work with government agencies, NGOs, PPPs, or multilateral organisations
- Proficiency in an additional Nigerian language (e.g., Hausa or Igbo)
- Experience with donor communications and reporting frameworks
- Exposure to multimedia content production (video, podcasts, etc.)
