Purpose of the Role
Community Engagement and Pastoral Lead will play a key role in supporting children, families and communities across Greater Manchester by delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions, leading community programmes, and strengthening partnerships with external organisations. The role combines direct delivery with strategic outreach, ensuring that vulnerable children and families can access meaningful support, opportunities and pathways that improve wellbeing, engagement and long-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Partnership Working:
- To proactively network across Greater Manchester to build and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, schools and Multi Academy Trusts, community organisations, and health and social care partners
- To represent the organisation at local meetings, forums and partnership events
- To identify opportunities for collaboration that enhance provision for children and families
Funding, Outreach and Programme Development
- To lead and support funding applications to develop and sustain community outreach programmes
- To contribute to fundraising activities and support evaluation and reporting required by funders
- To identify opportunities to expand provision including family clubs and holiday programmes
Therapeutic Interventions (SEMH Focus)
- To plan, deliver and evaluate one-to-one and small group interventions for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- To track progress and produce reports for schools, families and funders
- To work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies Family Clubs and Intergenerational Provision
- To plan, deliver and evaluate family club sessions in partner schools
- To design intergenerational activities promoting engagement and cohesion
- To gather feedback and evidence impact Community Programmes and Outreach Delivery
- To design and deliver inclusive community activities promoting physical activity, wellbeing, cohesion and learning
- To plan, lead and evaluate school community events such as Christmas Fayres, community discos, Summer Fayres etc
- To ensure programmes are accessible and responsive to needs§Holiday Club Leadership
- To lead planning and delivery of holiday provision
- To oversee staffing, activities and daily operations
Pathways and Support for Vulnerable Families
- To create access pathways into programmes and provide appropriate signposting
- To work alongside agencies to coordinate support
Team Leadership and Quality Assurance
- To oversee a small team and ensure high standards of delivery
- To support staff development and training
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- To collect and analyse data and produce termly reports
- To contribute to organisational impact reporting
Safeguarding and Pastoral Responsibility
- To support safeguarding practice and act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead where required
- To ensure concerns are recorded and followed up
Volunteer and Community Capacity Building
- To support recruitment and development of volunteers and community members
Outcome and Impact Development
- To support development of evaluation frameworks and impact evidence
Inclusive Practice and SEND Support
- To ensure provision is inclusive and adapted for SEND
Transition and Early Support Pathways
- To support children and families through transitions and early intervention
Wider Responsibilities
- To support wraparound provision where required
- To follow all safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies
- To undertake any other duties appropriate to the role
The successful candidate will be required to undergo and enhanced DBS check, reference checks and evidence qualifications prior to appointment.
Salary will be competitive and dependent on experience; it is expected to be in the range of £27000-29000 per annum.
