Community Growth Specialist (Remote)
What You'll Be Doing
Video Editing & Content Creation for Community Growth (50%)
Transform expert conversations into community-building content:
- Mine 60+ recorded sessions for compelling moments that showcase community value
- Create 15-90 second videos optimised for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn
- Craft hooks, subtitles, and visual storytelling that resonates with product managers and leaders (using AI tools that help e.g. Opus)
- Design content that moves people through the funnel: discovery → follow → engage → attendance → subscription → membership
Build a sustainable content engine:
- Repurpose long-form expert video recordings into multiple short-form assets
- Create series and themes that build anticipation and recurring engagement
- Develop content that highlights community value, expert insights, and member success stories
- Write captions and CTAs that drive specific actions at each funnel stage
Maintain brand consistency across all platforms that reflects our community values and resonates with our audience
Social Media Management & Growth (35%)
- Manage and grow the community in multiple social media platforms:
- Product Circle Chat LinkedIn page
- Product Circle Chat TikTok account (new)
- YouTube Shorts channel
- My personal LinkedIn profile
- Develop and execute content strategies to drive traffic through the funnel:
- Luma - Live event bookings and attendance
- Substack - Paid subscribers to The Product Venn
- LinkedIn - Page followers and engagement
- TikTok - New audience acquisition
- Community - Annual memberships
- Schedule content and maintain a light content calendar aligned with priorities and weekly deliverables
- Engage with followers, respond to comments, and nurture community conversations
- Monitor and optimise based on performance metrics (views, engagement, follower growth, conversions)
- Apply growth loop thinking - how do people move through the funnel from following on social media to attending a live Product Circle Chat session to subscribing on Substack and purchasing Product Circle Chat Membership or Training or Coaching.
- Test, learn, and iterate based on what drives actual community growth
- Share insights and recommendations for improving community conversion
Community Support & Event Activation (15%)
- Amplify live events as community touchpoints:
- Create promotional content that drives event registrations (Luma)
- Develop post-event content that showcases community value and attracts new members
- Capture and repurpose event highlights that demonstrate the community experience
- Support community engagement:
- Light-touch participation in the private Product Circle Chat Slack community
- Identify and elevate member stories and successes
- Help maintain community momentum between live events
Success = Community Growth & Conversion
Measure and track growth across six key areas, in this priority order:
- Luma live event bookings - Are people showing up to experience the community?
- Substack paid subscribers - Are we converting readers to The Product Venn community?
- LinkedIn page followers - Is Product Circle Chat's visibility growing?
- TikTok audience growth - Are we reaching new potential community members?
- Personal LinkedIn engagement - Is thought leadership building community trust?
- Annual community memberships - Are people joining and staying?
The ultimate goal: Build a self-sustaining community where members love the experience so much they naturally bring others in. Your content and social media work is central to growth across the social platforms.
Your work directly supports positioning me as a thought leader in product management, which drives training sales, coaching bookings, and (soon) book sales - all of which feed back into community growth.
What Makes You Perfect for This Role
Must-Haves:
- Community growth mindset - You understand that content serves community building, not just vanity metrics
- Short-form video editing mastery - Proven experience creating engaging content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts
- Social media growth experience - You've built and grown engaged communities on social platforms (please share specific results!)
- Platform expertise - Deep understanding of TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn algorithms and best practices
- Video editing skills - Proficient in Opus, CapCut, Descript, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools
- Strategic AI usage - You use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Descript, Opus Clip, etc.) to accelerate your work BUT you apply critical thinking, maintain quality, and tailor everything to our specific audience
- Australian English fluency - All content must be written in Australian English spelling and conventions
- B2B/professional audience understanding - You know how to engage product managers, tech professionals, and business leaders (or learn fast)
- Excellent time management - Deliver consistent results within 20 hours/week
- Storytelling ability - You instinctively know what makes content engaging, shareable, and conversion-focused
Nice-to-Haves:
- Demonstrated success building online communities from scratch
- Experience with community platforms (Slack, Circle, Discord, etc.)
- Familiarity with Substack, Luma, or similar tools
- Background in educational, B2B, or tech/SaaS content marketing
- Understanding of growth loops, funnel marketing, and community flywheels
- Experience with scheduling tools (Buffer, Hootsuite as needed) and analytics platforms
- Basic motion graphics or animation skills
- Previous work with membership or subscription-based communities
