Community Manager

Are you an experienced property management professional who knows how to lead a team, run a tight operation, and build a community residents are proud to call home? Donaldson, a recognized leader in multifamily property management across the DC/MD/VA region, is looking for a dynamic and driven Community Manager for North Pointe Apartments, a 235-unit residential apartment community in Hyattsville, MD.

As Community Manager, you'll oversee leasing, maintenance, finances, compliance, and your on-site team — setting the tone for service, performance, and culture every day.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and develop your on-site leasing and maintenance team
• Drive occupancy through effective leasing strategies, marketing, and resident retention
• Own the property budget — manage expenses, review financials, and minimize delinquency
• Deliver an exceptional resident experience from move-in through move-out
• Oversee unit turnovers, property inspections, and maintenance quality standards
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, local regulations, and company policies
• Maintain accurate records and reporting in Yardi
• Resolve escalated resident concerns promptly and professionally

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of residential property management experience, including team supervision
• Strong financial acumen — comfortable owning a budget and explaining variances
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish/ English)
• Proficiency in Yardi, Microsoft Excel, and Word
• Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• CAM designation preferred but not required
• Professional appearance; some weekend availability required
