Community Relations Specialist

Job Summary:
The Community Relations Specialist supports FBCA's mission by serving as the primary bridge between the school, student families, alumni, and the local community. This role coordinates internal and external communications, manages the school calendar, oversees major events, and supports fundraising initiatives to boost enrollment and community investment.
The Community Relations Specialist promotes a Christ-centered school culture by facilitating communication, engagement, and relationship-building among families, staff, and our local community, and by reinforcing alignment with the school’s mission and core values.
Requires strong communication abilities, as well as computer and data entry skills.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Media Management
· Write and manage school newsletters, press releases, and announcements.
· Responsible for creating event flyers or promotional materials.
· Manage the school’s website updates and social media channels.
· Act as the point of contact for local media inquiries and social media inquiries.
· Responsible for School Manual edits to promote consistency. Event Planning & Calendar Management
· Maintain the master school calendar to prevent scheduling conflicts.
· Maintain the fundraising calendar to prevent scheduling conflicts.
· Plan and execute major school events; oversee the event coordinator for proper execution.
Fundraising & Donor Relations
· Organize two annual fundraising campaigns.
· Identify and cultivate relationships with local business sponsors.
· Maintain the donor database and send timely thank-you acknowledgments. Community Outreach & Engagement
· Develop partnerships with local organizations for student community service.
· Develop communication and cultivate relationships with the FBCPC church office staff to promote consistency.
Qualifications & Skills
· A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and active membership in a Bible-believing church
· Alignment with FBCA’s mission, vision, and core values
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
· Proven experience in development, advancement, marketing, or donor relations preferred
· Comfortable interacting with diverse audiences, including church leaders, business professionals, and school families
· Strong writing and storytelling ability to effectively communicate the FBCA mission
· Familiarity with fundraising platforms, CRM tools, or donor management systems is a plus
Minimum requirements:
*CPR & First Aid Certification
*Consistent, professional dress and manner.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
*Good time management skills.
*Experience with administrative and clerical procedures.
*Able to contribute positively as part of a team.
Abilities required:
Prolonged periods of sitting.
Lift or move packages and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
