- Consumer-focused and collaborative – Demonstrates empathy, cultural awareness and active listening, with the ability to build strong relationships across community groups, frontline staff and executive stakeholders to enable meaningful consumer participation.
- Highly organised and adaptable – Capable of managing complex, high-volume work with strong attention to detail, while remaining flexible to attend community meetings and respond to evolving service needs.
- Strong communicator and change advocate – Excellent communication skills with the ability to support service development, promote feedback systems, and drive improvements that elevate consumer and carer involvement in planning, delivering and evaluating services.
Selection Criteria

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health related field, community development or previous experience in consumer and community engagement and/or similar field.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to communicate, network, work and consult effectively with members of the community, community groups, health professionals, health interest groups and Government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high performing team with the ability to motivate and influence staff in a multidisciplinary context.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P. Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
