Content Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Contents Department Manager to lead and scale our contents division within a fast-paced restoration environment. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contents claims, from initial site inspection and client onboarding through inventory, restoration, invoicing, and final payment collection.
The ideal candidate combines operational leadership, technical expertise in contents restoration, and strong communication skills to work effectively with both clients and insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities
Department Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the contents division, including packing, inventory, cleaning, and storage
- Recruit, train, and supervise field technicians to ensure quality and efficiency across multiple job sites
- Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and team performance
Systems & Process Development
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures for inventory control, warehouse management, and job site execution
- Establish best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the department
Client & Business Development
- Conduct site inspections and meet with property owners to explain the contents restoration process
- Build trust with clients and secure job approvals/contracts
- Maintain a high level of customer service during sensitive loss situations
Financial & Claims Management
- Ensure accurate job costing, documentation, and timely invoicing
- Communicate with insurance carriers and adjusters to support estimates and facilitate prompt payment collection
- Monitor job profitability and department performance
Quality Assurance
- Audit digital inventories (e.g., iCAT, Encircle) to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Maintain high standards for handling, tracking, and restoring client belongings
Vendor & Carrier Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance adjusters
- Provide detailed documentation and justification for estimates and billing
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in the restoration industry, with a focus on contents and/or fire damage restoration
- Proven leadership experience managing crews and multiple concurrent projects
- Proficiency with industry tools such as Xactimate (preferred), iCAT, Encircle, or similar platforms
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly with insurance carriers
- High emotional intelligence and professionalism when working with clients in distress
- Strong organizational and systems-oriented mindset
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites

The hourly pay range listed reflects the expected compensation for this role in California. Final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
