ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY (EHS) OFFICER
THE MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EHS OFFICER
- Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable local and national environmental, health, and safety laws and permits.
- Responsible for overseeing pollution, waste management, and environmental protection programs.
- Responsible for implementing workplace health and safety systems, risk controls, and hazard prevention measures.
- Responsible for leading emergency preparedness, incident response, and crisis management activities.
- Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continually improving the EHS management system and performance.
DUTIES AND RESPPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures compliance with OSH, environmental, and food safety regulations and internal policies.
- Implements safety programs, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Leads incident/accident investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develops and conducts training on OSH, fire safety, chemical safety, waste management, and food safety.
- Manages permits, licenses, and regulatory submissions to DOLE, BFP, DENR/LLDA, and FDA.
- Oversees pollution control, wastewater, air emissions, and hazardous waste compliance.
- Acts as Pollution Control Officer (PCO) for environmental regulatory reporting and transactions.
- Acts as Qualified Personnel (QP) for FDA food compliance, including LTO, CPR, and related applications.
- Ensures compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Good Storage Practices (GSP), and sanitation.#
- Facilitates regulatory inspections/audits and ensures timely closure of findings.
- Monitors validity of FDA authorizations and coordinates renewal/amendment requirements.
- Reviews product quality concerns, complaints, and CAPA coordination with relevant units.
- Assists in handling returned goods and ensures proper documentation and disposition.
- Tracks regulatory updates and implements new compliance requirements to operations.
- Maintains accurate records and monitoring systems for safety, environmental, and food regulatory compliance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Chemical Engineer or Chemist
- Must have undergone the Online Basic Training course for Pollution Control Officer
TRAININGS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- With at least 2 years of experience in environmental management.
- Proficient in MS applications and other related applications
- 40 hours of Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH 2) Training
- Seminar/Training certificate on food safety, GDP and GSP, and other food safety related regulations

- Excellent in written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge in the office management system

- Excellent in time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and management to achieve safety goals.
- Ability to keenly observe work practices and environmental conditions for non-compliance or unsafe acts/conditions.
