Environmental Health and Safety Manager
$90,000 - $115,000/yr
Essential Job Functions:
- Foster cooperative and productive relationships with consultants, suppliers, and Aero Metals employees
- Enforce, update, and ensure compliance with environmental programs such as Title V (FESOP), SARA (TRI and Tier II), SPCC, RCRA, wastewater, stormwater exclusion
- Data collection, inspections, and filings on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Enforce, update, and ensure compliance with safety programs such as hearing conservation, hazard communication, SDS system, bloodborne pathogens, lockout/tagout, confined space, among others
- Effectively communicate EHS information in both written and oral form among consultants, upper management, supervisors, and production workers
- Facilitate training programs at plant wide scale
- Daily plant walkthroughs – address current and future safety issues
Skills, Abilities, and Traits:
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proactive – safety and environmentally driven
- Strong reading and interpretation of standards and permits
- Ability to work independently and in groups
- Lift up to 60 pounds (rarely)
- Climb a ladder, move a heavy drum/cart, access tight spaces, etc. (occasionally)
- Familiarity in a manufacturing environment (strongly recommended)
- Previous industrial compliance experience (strongly recommended)
- Computer and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (strongly recommended)
Education and Experience:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field OR 2+ years of EHS compliance experience (preferred)
- 2-3 years manufacturing experience (strongly preferred)
- Experience in hazardous waste storage, handling, and transportation (preferred)
- Some on-the-job training is available for the right candidate
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Training (preferred)
- OSHA Certified Environmental Specialist Training (preferred)
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training (preferred)
- DOT Hazardous Waste Shipper Training (preferred)
Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
