Environmental Health and Safety Manager
- Maintains environmental, health and safety policies /procedures that will ensure compliance to OSHA, State and Hyosung Standards.
- Reviews plant safety records for compliance to written standards and procedures.
- Maintains/revises and distributes changes in the plant Hazard Communication (Hazcom) program:
o Ensures all materials have approved valid MSDS prior to use.
o Enters/revises electronic Data System (MSDS) information as necessary.
o Maintains hard copy backup.
o Investigates how, where, and how material is used.
- Develops/maintains/revises/distributes all written safety programs/policies/procedures, as required.
- Conducts annual training and fit testing for associates wearing respirators. Maintains documented system to ensure compliance.
- Maintains/revises and distributes changes in Emergency Response Procedures.
- Maintains Employee Report of Incident information for accidents and distribute safety statistics.
- Conduct accident investigations.
- Maintains OSHA 300 Log and reports information annually to state and federal as required.
- Assists with new associate’s orientation by reviewing Safety, Industrial Health and Hazardous communication Program.
- Coordinates and assists in annual Air Sampling of plant.
- Monitors for all exposure situations: Airborne contaminants, noise Dosimetry, Noise Level Mapping, Heat Stress, etc.
- Conducts Air sampling of all confined spaces and documentation of confined workspace permits.
- Reviews of all new equipment for compliance of OSHA standards.
- Reviews and update functional job descriptions.
- Performs job hazard analysis on all new jobs and old as required.
- Performs hands on and classroom training as needed.
- Assists with scheduling and support activities required for meetings, training sessions, and conferences, etc.
- Coordinates training for hourly and salaried associates.
- Maintains/updates/distributes Training Material for plant.
- Develops training plans and procedures and facilitating training as needed.
- Participates and assists on plant safety steering committee as needed.
- Conducts all forklift Training as needed.
- Maintains Document Control of all ISO Quality & Environmental items including updates and changes.
- Ensures all departments have ISO updates and are in compliance.
- Assists in all internal and external audits.
- Assists in development of new documents and procedures needed by customers.
- Functions as a team leader with plant management representatives during annual ISO surveillance and recertification audits
Education/Knowledge:
- High School Diploma Required
- Knowledge of ISO
- Workplace Safety - OSHA 511 training.
Experience:
- Workings of a Manufacturing plant
- Experience with ISO
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Training experience.
- Plant Security.
Skills:
- Results oriented with positive attitude toward goal setting and attainment.
- Computer software literacy (Microsoft Office).
The Safety and Training Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, and Hyosung standards. This includes reviewing safety records, managing the Hazard Communication program, developing and maintaining safety programs, and conducting respirator training and fit testing. The coordinator also handles emergency response procedures, accident investigations, and OSHA record-keeping.
Additionally, the role involves coordinating and conducting safety training programs for employees, including forklift training. The coordinator will maintain document control for ISO Quality & Environmental items, assist with internal and external audits, and support the plant safety steering committee. This position also requires monitoring exposure situations, conducting air sampling, and reviewing new equipment for OSHA compliance.
