Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Specialist to support our manufacturing operations by ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role is critical in promoting a culture of safety, reducing risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance in all aspects of operations. The EHS Specialist will partner with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain programs that protect our people, products, and the environment. This is an onsite position that requires regular travel to support EHS activities across multiple locations. May need to respond to emergencies during non-business hours, including weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, standards).
o Maintain and manage documentation for regulatory audits, permits, and inspections.
o Support EHS reporting requirements including hazardous waste, chemical inventory, etc.
Program Implementation & Monitoring
o Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs including chemical safety, waste management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and emergency response.
o Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and incident investigations.
o Perform regular EHS audits and inspections in the production floor, cleanroom, and support areas.
o Assist in the development and execution of emergency response plans and drills.
Training & Communication
o Deliver EHS-related training and education for employees, contractors, and new hires.
o Promote EHS awareness across the facility through campaigns, meetings, and safety committees.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS best practices.
Incident Management
o Lead investigations into incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns.
o Maintain incident logs, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
Environmental Management
o Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal in line with RCRA and company policies.
o Support sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction and resource conservation.

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Good working knowledge of EHS regulations (EPA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA, ANSI standards, etc.)
· Experience in identification and assessment of hazards
· Experience in managing hazardous waste
· Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
· Experience in developing and delivering training to other team members
· Strong organization skills, attention to details, and time management
· Effective in working with other cross-functional teams
Education and Experience
· Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, and related field.
· 2–5 years of EHS experience in semiconductor or manufacturing environments.
· Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE are preferred.
· Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
· Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and chemical handling in a semiconductor environment.
· Familiarity with RBA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14064 are preferred.
· Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
· Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with efficiency, a large and diversified workload, and challenging situations.
· May need to wear safety shoes as part of the job when required
· Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances
· Work may require lifting up to 25 pounds
Pay: $78,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year
