Summary
The Safety & Environmental Manager is responsible for supporting and implementing safety and environmental programs across two Echo Lake Foods facilities. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations, supports site leadership in maintaining safe and environmentally compliant operations, and drives continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental stewardship.
Essential Functions
· Support the implementation and maintenance of safety and environmental programs at two assigned facilities.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, and applicable state agencies).
· Conduct routine site audits, safety inspections, and environmental compliance reviews; identify hazards and assist in tracking corrective actions.
· Partner with plant leadership and designated site contacts to reinforce safety and environmental expectations and accountability.
· Assist in the investigation of accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents; support root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
· Track and report key safety and environmental metrics (e.g., TRIR, waste, water, and basic compliance indicators) and highlight trends.
· Support delivery of safety and environmental training to employees and supervisors.
· Assist during regulatory inspections and audits; help maintain accurate documentation and records.
· Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement initiatives and participation in EHS Management system (Playbook) meetings.
· Support emergency response preparedness, including spill response readiness and basic drills.
· Assist with environmental compliance activities including waste handling, stormwater inspections, and chemical management.
· Help maintain required environmental records and routine reports (e.g., waste manifests, inspection logs, basic permit tracking).
· Support site-level sustainability efforts such as recycling, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
· Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to address safety and environmental concerns in day-to-day activities.

Work Environment

Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are dependent on operational needs and may vary, Monday through Sunday. The employee is required to be available as scheduled and may be required to be available for extended hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Some travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
· 5+ years of progressive safety management experience, preferably in food manufacturing or related industry.
· Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
· Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to travel to regional facilities.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
