The Role
We’re hiring an in-market Field Marketing hire to own Lick Energy’s presence across Florida. Based in Tampa or Orlando, you’ll plan and execute on-the-ground activations, build and lead a team of brand ambassadors, partner with retail and distributor accounts, and bring the brand to life everywhere our consumers spend time.
Whether we hire you as a Coordinator or a Manager, you’ll be part strategist, part doer, and 100% in-market. If you love being on the ground, building something from scratch, and watching real people fall in love with a brand you’re shaping — read on.
Title and Level: How We’ll Decide
We’re hiring one person, but at one of two levels. Here’s the difference at a glance:
Field Marketing Coordinator (1–2 years experience)
- Execution-first role that focuses on running great events on the ground
- Supports the broader field strategy set by HQ; doesn’t own the full activation calendar or budget on day one
- Helps recruit, schedule, and support the brand ambassador team
- Built to grow into the Manager role over time
Field Marketing Manager (2–4+ years experience)
- Owns the activation calendar, budget, and overall field strategy across both states
- Recruits, hires, leads, and develops the brand ambassador team independently
- Owns key retail, distributor, and event partnerships directly
- Operates with high autonomy and contributes to broader brand and growth strategy
If you’re between these two — that’s great. We have flexibility to scope the role to where you are.
What You’ll Do
The role spans the activities below; how much you own end-to-end versus support depends on the level we hire you at.
Activate and Execute
- Plan, staff, and execute field activations across the Atlanta metro and Alabama — sampling pop-ups, festivals, sports moments, gym takeovers, college campus drops, and retail demos
- Identify and secure local event partnerships, sponsorships, and grassroots opportunities in both states
- Manage on-site logistics: permits, equipment, sample inventory, vehicle rentals, signage, and day-of execution — including out-of-town activations
- Contribute to (or own, depending on level) the activation calendar and ensure every event ladders up to broader brand and sales priorities
Build and Lead the Brand Ambassador Team
- Recruit, onboard, train, and schedule a team of part-time brand ambassadors (1099 contractors) in both Atlanta and key Alabama markets (Birmingham, Auburn/Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Mobile)
- Help build standardized onboarding, brand training, and event playbooks so every ambassador represents Lick consistently
- Coach the team in real time and provide feedback to drive performance, retention, and a strong on-brand vibe at every activation
- Approve timesheets, manage event-day staffing, and maintain a healthy ambassador roster across the territory
Partner with Retail and Distribution
- Build relationships with key retail accounts, C-stores, gyms, and on-premise locations across Georgia and Alabama to land in-store sampling, displays, and account-level activations
- Coordinate closely with our distributor and sales partners in each market to align field activity with sell-in priorities, new account launches, and seasonal pushes
- Track shelf presence, distribution gaps, and competitor activity across both states and surface insights back to the team
Capture, Report, and Iterate
- Capture content (photo, video, UGC) at every activation and feed it back to the brand and social teams
- Submit clean recap reports — sample counts, attendance estimates, qualitative learnings, photos — within 24 hours of every event
- Help manage (or own) the Georgia + Alabama field marketing budget; track spend against ROI and flag opportunities to reallocate
- Bring market intel — what’s working, what’s not, what consumers are saying in each market — to weekly syncs with HQ
What You Bring (Required at Either Level)
- At least 1+ year of experience in field marketing, brand ambassador programs, experiential marketing, event production, hospitality, or related on-the-ground brand work — ideally in beverage, CPG, fitness, or lifestyle
- Familiarity with the Atlanta market; openness and excitement about getting to know Alabama markets
- Strong organizational chops — you can juggle multiple events, deadlines, and stakeholders without dropping balls
- Comfortable with the physical side of the job: lifting up to 40 lbs, setting up and breaking down event booths, and being on your feet for full event days
- Excellent communicator — clear writing, confident in front of consumers and partners, and comfortable representing the brand
- Self-starter mentality with a startup mindset: scrappy, organized, adaptable, and energized by ambiguity
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to work nights and weekends as the event calendar requires
- Comfortable with regular overnight travel into Alabama markets
- Proficient with the basics: Google Workspace, Excel, social platforms, and event/content tools (Canva, CapCut, etc.)
What Gets You Hired at the Manager Level
- 2–4+ years in field, experiential, or brand marketing — ideally in beverage, CPG, fitness, or lifestyle
- Track record of independently managing or leading a team of part-time staff, ambassadors, or volunteers
- Experience owning a market’s activation calendar, budget, and strategy end-to-end
- Existing relationships with retail accounts, distributors, event producers, venues, gyms, college reps (Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, UAB), or local media in either market
- Experience launching or scaling an emerging beverage/CPG brand in a new market
Bonus Points (Either Level)
- Recent grad of a Georgia or Alabama university with active campus and community connections
- Comfort capturing on-brand photo/video content for social use
- Experience working with beverage distributors (e.g., DSD, beer/non-alc partners)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) for broader consumer reach across both markets
Why Lick
- High-ownership role: you’ll be the face of the brand across two states and you’ll see your work directly drive growth
- A real growth path: Coordinators are hired with a clear runway to grow into the Manager role
- Direct line to brand and HQ leadership — your voice shapes how we show up
- Competitive pay (leveled to experience), performance bonus, health benefits, PTO, and (yes) all the Lick you can drink
- A small, fast-moving team where good ideas win and ambassadors of the brand grow into bigger roles fast
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Tampa, FL 33610
