The Role

Lesmurdie SHS is seeking to appoint a dynamic and passionate Head of Learning Area (HOLA) in Humanities and Social Studies (HASS) who is ideally responsive to change and caters to the learning styles of twenty first century students.

As HOLA - HASS you will become part of our committed Leadership Team and work collaboratively with staff, students and the wider school community to provide educational leadership through developing and promoting the school’s vision and strategic directions. You will ideally be an outstanding educator and be willing to take on significant levels of accountability.

Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian HASS Curriculum and proven ability to teach across Years 7 to 12 including ATAR Subjects. The selected applicant would promote active learning and provide engaging learning activities which facilitate students at all levels achieving their potential. We are looking for a dynamic, adaptable and collaborative individual who is committed to working effectively in leading the team. Applicants should be improvement focused, participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their own teaching and leadership practice to enhance student engagement and achievement outcomes.

• hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
• obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
