Head of Project Development

<p><strong>Head of Project Development (PV / BESS)</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Northern Germany (Flexible)</p><p><br></p><p>Our client is an established renewable energy developer with a strong and expanding pipeline of utility-scale solar PV and battery storage (BESS) projects across Germany. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of Development to take ownership of the development strategy, pipeline delivery, and team leadership across their PV and storage portfolio.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a senior leadership role for an experienced development professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to project delivery. You will play a central role in shaping and scaling the company’s development activities, ensuring projects progress efficiently from greenfield stage through to ready-to-build.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the full development lifecycle across utility-scale PV and BESS projects from origination through to ready-to-build status</li><li>Define and execute development strategy to grow and optimise the German project pipeline</li><li>Identify and prioritise target regions for PV and storage development</li><li>Manage permitting processes, including planning approvals, environmental requirements, and regulatory frameworks</li><li>Coordinate grid connection applications and liaise with DSOs/TSOs</li><li>Build, lead, and develop a team of project developers</li><li>Establish development KPIs and ensure strong pipeline conversion and project progression</li><li>Support commercial discussions with investors, partners, and internal stakeholders</li><li>Work closely with senior leadership to support long-term growth strategy and market expansion</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience developing utility-scale PV and/or BESS projects in Germany</li><li>Strong understanding of German planning, permitting, and grid connection processes</li><li>Track record of delivering projects from greenfield through to RTB</li><li>Leadership experience, either managing teams or regional development responsibility</li><li>Strong stakeholder management skills with landowners, municipalities, and authorities</li><li>Commercial mindset with ability to assess project risk, value, and pipeline quality</li><li>Fluent German and professional English</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why This Role?</strong></p><ul><li>Senior leadership position with direct influence on company growth and strategy</li><li>Full ownership of PV and BESS pipeline development</li><li>Opportunity to build and shape a development team</li><li>High exposure to utility-scale solar and storage growth markets in Germany</li><li>Strong alignment with a fast-growing and entrepreneurial development platform</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Apply below to learn more!</strong></p>
