Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Stewarts of Tayside Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, environmental, and compliance procedures across the business to ensure a safe and legally compliant working environment.
This role will involve working closely with management and employees across farming, production, accommodation, and transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
· Maintain and update company policies, procedures, and risk assessments
· Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and accident investigations
· Monitor environmental compliance and sustainability practices
· Deliver health and safety training and inductions
· Support ethical audits and customer compliance requirements
· Promote a positive health and safety culture across the business
· Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions
· Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors where required
· Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation
· Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices
· Support fire safety, emergency procedures, and welfare standards
· Support and monitor health and safety compliance across agricultural operations, including field work, machinery use, harvesting activities, chemical handling, and seasonal worker welfare.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety or Environmental role
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent preferred
- Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience within food production, agriculture, or manufacturing would be advantageous
- Good IT and report-writing skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
