Core Purpose of the Role:
GIBB is seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to enhance and advance the GIBB Group brand by strategically aligning marketing, communications, and PR efforts to the Group’s overall business objectives, driving brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and business growth.
Key Performance Areas
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To strategically align the firm’s brand strategy to the overall strategy of the group, enhancing brand awareness that will lead to an increase in business growth. Management of all the Group Marketing and support stand-alone subsidiaries within the GIBB Group of companies with marketing, communications and PR. - Media releases, advertising, writing of articles, development of media relations, generate publicity, CSI, events and exhibitions.
- Management of the PR Agency team
- Assist in developing marketing/brand strategies
- Management of all content for internal and external communications including the company website
- Management of events, exhibitions, media roundtables, functions and CSI
- Manage social media content/strategy and execution
- Management of graphic design
- Budget planning and management
- Negotiations with suppliers on contracts
- Monthly reporting on marketing statistics and company performance in relation to the competitors
- Media roundtables facilitator
- Publicity Reporting and google analytics
- Drive internal campaigns around the company’s brand essence
- Creating video content on staff
- Writing of company newsletters
- Assist in the change management for the firm to achieve the vision
- General administration duties
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with Marketing activities and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Stakeholder Engagement and Management: Foster positive relationships with clients and key stakeholders during the bidding process and Address client queries and concerns promptly and professionally
- Marketing Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop marketing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Conduct thorough 360-degree research on the environment, key clients and competitors to inform the marketing strategy
Public Relations and Social Media Services
- Content strategy and execution – Development of a 12-month framework of topic angles, media targets and timelines
- Written press release/thought leadership articles
Media relations
- Development of appropriate media list in line with client targets
- Media lobbying for interviews and development of related briefing documents and lobbying for coverage
- Sourcing of commentary/feature opportunities
Reporting and admin
- A monthly status meeting with Client subsidiaries and status document outline key priorities for the said month and upcoming activities
- A monthly report with key client KPIs, including but not limited to, an ROI of 3:1 for PR and outline the performance of social media
Social Media
- Monthly content calendar creation (copy only)
- Community management of LinkedIn and Twitter
- Paid media management for Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Search (Google Adverts)
- Media Buying
- Management of Engineering News partnership
Meetings
- Agency Performance Monitoring
- Alignment & Progress Meetings

- Knowledge of Google Analytics for monthly reporting
- Knowledge of basic website design to upload blog articles, internal news on the intranet monthly
- Knowledge of YouTube to upload video content
- Knowledge of PR to work alongside the agency for optimal publicity
- Knowledge of social media to work alongside the agency for optimal engagement and to manage internal Facebook Group
- Knowledge of internal communications to manage internal correspondence on behalf of the CEO and HR department

- Marketing Degree
Experience
- Minimum 10 years related work experience and 5years in engineering environment
