Port City Java has been roasting coffee in Wilmington since 1995. What started as a single coffeehouse has grown into a regional brand with locations across Southeastern North Carolina — and we're still expanding. The Role
This is a hands-on operational marketing role, not a desk job. You'll be the connective tissue between our marketing strategy and what actually happens in our cafes — coordinating launches, managing vendor relationships, executing community partnerships, and making sure every location has what it needs, when it needs it.
You'll work directly with our Director of Marketing and interact regularly with cafe managers, district managers, local organizations, and vendors across the region.
What You'll Do
- Own the execution of new location launches: pre-opening timelines, signage delivery, Google Business Profile setup, and checklist management
- Coordinate community partnership programs, managing outreach and follow-through with local organizations, nonprofits, and sponsors
- Serve as the day-to-day marketing liaison to cafe and district management teams, ensuring seasonal materials and promotional assets arrive on time
- Manage vendor and sponsor relationships for merchandise, promotional materials, and event supplies
- Handle logistics for grand openings, community activations, local festivals, and company-wide events
- Maintain Google Business Profiles across all locations — reviews, hours, photos, local search accuracy
- Track location-level marketing budgets, manage invoices, and keep spend reporting current
- Support seasonal menu launches, catering outreach, and special projects
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years in marketing coordination, project management, event planning, or a related operational role (restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience is a strong plus)
- Strong organizational habits — you keep lists, hit deadlines, and don't let things slip
- Clear written and verbal communication; you'll interact with a wide range of people regularly
- Comfort with Google Business Profile management, basic design tools (Adobe Express or similar), and standard office software
- Willingness to travel between locations across Southeastern NC — regular in-market presence is part of the job
- Genuine interest in community; we want someone who understands why showing up matters, not someone who treats partnerships as transactions
Compensation & Benefits
- $42,500–$50,000 annually, commensurate with experience
