Part-Time Marketing Executive
We’re looking for a part-time Marketing Executive to join us and help shape the way we market both Cleasby Engine Services and Cartech Autocentre.
This is a new role for us, so we’re looking for someone who can come in, get to know the businesses properly and help us build a clear marketing plan that works for what we do. We don’t want marketing for the sake of it. We want someone who can understand our services, our customers and our industries, then help us communicate that clearly and consistently.
Cleasby Engine Services specialises in engine machining and reconditioning, supporting customers across a range of sectors. Cartech Autocentre carries out specialist vehicle repair work, including complex mechanical repairs, engine replacements and diagnostics. Between the two businesses, we have a huge amount of knowledge and experience, and we want to do a better job of sharing that with existing and potential customers.
The role would suit someone with marketing experience or a marketing qualification, particularly if they have an interest in engineering, manufacturing, automotive industries or technical products. You don’t need to know everything about engines on day one, but you do need to be interested in learning about what we do and how to explain it to the right audience.
As this is a new position, we’re looking for someone who is happy to take ownership of the role and bring ideas to the table. We want somebody who can look at where we are now, identify opportunities and help us create a marketing approach that reflects the quality of work carried out across both businesses.
We know that marketing covers a lot of different areas, so we don’t expect one person to be an expert in absolutely everything. You may have experience in content, social media, design, websites, strategy, photography, video or print materials, but we understand that not every candidate will have covered all of these areas before.
You will be working with our external marketing partner on delivery; however, this is a hands-on role. You will be involved in these projects, helping to brief work, gather information, create social media content, coordinate activity, review work and make sure things keep moving. We’re looking for someone who wants to learn, take responsibility and be actively involved, rather than simply passing work on to someone else. You will also be required to contact corporate and commercial customers by telephone, in person or email in order to build lasting relationships.
We’re looking for someone who is easy to work with, organised and able to use their own initiative. You’ll need to be comfortable asking questions, getting stuck in and building relationships with different members of the team with the confidence to help them out of their comfort zone. A big part of the role will involve talking to people who have years of technical knowledge and helping turn that knowledge into content and marketing material that customers can understand.
You’ll also need to be confident managing your own workload, communicating clearly and keeping projects moving forward. No two weeks are likely to look exactly the same, which is one of the things that makes this role interesting.
Responsibilities
- Creating and delivering a marketing plan for both businesses.
- Working with our external partners.
- Creating and helping to create digital marketing content.
- Producing marketing materials for print and online use.
- Helping with photography, video content, case studies and customer stories.
- Supporting social media activity.
- Looking at ways to raise awareness of both businesses and the services we provide.
- Build and keep a lasting relationship with current and potential customers.
- Monitoring what is working well and recommending improvements.
- Supporting exhibitions, events and other promotional activities where required.
What We're Looking For
- A marketing qualification or relevant marketing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage your own workload and priorities.
- Confidence working with a range of people across the business.
- A willingness to learn about our industries and technical services.
- An interest in engineering, manufacturing or the automotive sector would be highly beneficial.
- Experience with websites, content creation, photography, video, design or marketing strategy would be useful, but we do not expect one person to have done everything.
Working Hours
The role is 16 hours per week, and we can be flexible with the days and times worked for the right candidate, as long as it didn’t effect the business’ needs and requirements. We are more interested in finding the right person than fitting them into a rigid schedule.
Interview Information
Interviews will take place on the afternoon of Friday 10th July. Candidate interview invites will be sent no later than COP Monday 6th of July.
