Regional Environmental Sustainability Manager – JLL
What this job involves:
As the Regional Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will be the driving force behind environmental excellence for a premier industrial client across the APAC region. This is an individual contributor role where you'll serve as the single point of execution and escalation for environmental sustainability initiatives, working hands-on with industrial and commercial facilities to deliver measurable improvements in energy, water, and waste performance. You'll manage utilities data collection and reporting, ensure compliance with ISO 14001 standards, and lead energy-saving projects that make a real impact. This on-site position requires you to be embedded with facility operations, collaborating closely with site teams and stakeholders to implement innovative sustainability solutions that align with global compliance standards and our client's ambitious environmental goals.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Manage energy, water, and waste data collection processes within the client's technology platform, ensuring timely and accurate utilities management reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Conduct on-site meetings and assessments to verify systems are working properly and optimize energy, water, and waste performance for no/low-cost projects and initiatives
Oversee and deliver energy-saving projects for the client, coordinating with facility managers and vendors to drive operational improvements at the building level
Monitor environmental compliance data including general, chemical, toxic, and hazardous wastes in accordance with NEA mandatory industrial waste management practices
Support ISO 14001 Environmental Management System reporting and audits at the site level, investigating variances and implementing solutions across the portfolio
Act as the key point of contact for facility managers, providing expert advice on environmental sustainability and compliance matters
Develop actionable environmental sustainability programs with quantified energy impacts and lead solution development for sustainability challenges
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
Minimum 5 years of hands-on industry experience in environmental sustainability within the industrial built environment
Essential real estate/built environment experience with strong knowledge of energy consumption and environmental management in industrial facilities
Deep expertise in global environmental compliance and regulations for industrial plants and facilities
Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems for monitoring, reporting, and audit purposes
Singapore Certified Energy Manager certification
Strong project planning and environmental management skills with proven ability to deliver outcomes, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in high-pressure environments with competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with major property management or facilities management organizations
Background in Facilities Management and Construction with experience reviewing technical and commercial aspects of sustainability initiatives
Track record of improving systems and processes to deliver best practice sustainability performance
Experience with emerging technologies and strategies for energy optimization, waste reduction, resource recovery, and circular economy initiatives
Demonstrated ability to establish and expand recycling programs and composting infrastructure
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience facilitating partnerships to promote waste reduction practices
Strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to simplify complex problems and see the big picture
