Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager
Job Overview
The Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager is responsible for leading and continuously improving the organisation’s Safety, Health & Environmental management systems, culture and performance across Northern Ireland operations.
The role provides visible leadership and strategic support to operational teams to ensure compliance with all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements while embedding a proactive culture focused on risk reduction, accountability, continuous improvement and predictable operational outcomes.
Working collaboratively across the business, the SHE Manager will support the development of positive organisational behaviours, operational discipline and employee engagement to strengthen both operational performance and employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
· Provide visible leadership to promote a positive safety, health, environmental and wellbeing culture across the business.
· Support leaders and employees in developing accountability, positive organisational behaviours and operational discipline.
· Promote continuous improvement, psychological safety and consistent operational standards that support predictable outcomes.
Safety, Health & Environmental Management
· Lead the implementation and continual improvement of the company’s SHE Management System in line with ISO standards and legislative requirements.
· Act as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for SHE matters across operations.
· Develop and implement SHE objectives, improvement plans and compliance programmes.
Risk Management & Compliance
· Lead risk assessments, hazard identification and control measures to minimise operational and environmental risk.
· Support incident, near miss and environmental event investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
· Conduct audits, inspections and compliance reviews
Environmental & Sustainability
· Support compliance with environmental legislation and company environmental standards.
· Assist with environmental improvement initiatives, waste reduction and pollution prevention activities.
· Support sustainability and environmental risk reduction initiatives across operations.
Training & Engagement
· Develop and deliver SHE training, awareness and engagement programmes.
· Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on SHE responsibilities and best practice.
· Support initiatives that strengthen positive workplace behaviours and employee wellbeing.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
· Monitor and report on SHE performance metrics and improvement activities.
· Drive initiatives that strengthen operational control, reduce variation and support predictable SHE performance outcomes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent recognised professional qualification essential; Diploma-level qualification desirable.
- Strong understanding of UK and Northern Ireland SHE legislation and management systems.
- Experience implementing and maintaining SHE Management Systems within an operational environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and work independently.
- Competent in analysing data, identifying trends and producing clear reports and recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business systems.
Preferred Skills
- Membership of IOSH, IEMA or equivalent professional body.
- Experience working within ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 accredited environments.
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience supporting organisational culture improvement and employee engagement initiatives.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, shift-based operations and contractor management.
- Experience leading incident investigations and driving corrective action programmes.
- Experience supporting environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
