About The Role
Are you an Environmental Professional interested in being part of an international mining company delivering environmental approvals for critical minerals projects in WA, NSW, Vic or SA?
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team based in our Perth corporate office. You will be responsible for providing strategic advice and overseeing technical environmental impact assessments with the objective of securing environmental approvals for Iluka’s projects. Approvals may relate to new projects, operational expansion or upgrade projects, exploration works, closure planning or site relinquishment.

Working within a dynamic environmental team, you will be responsible for:
Scoping approvals and preparing fit-for-purpose approval strategy documents
Managing and delivering environmental impact statement (EIS) programs, including:
Developing technical scopes of work for impact assessments
Managing request-for-tender (RFT)/request-for-proposal (RFP) processes
Onboarding and managing technical consultants
Developing and tracking EIS/study schedules
Supervising environmental study field programs
Undertaking critical review of consultant technical reports for alignment with statutory assessment requirements and the Iluka management system
Developing and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with Government agencies and other stakeholdersIdentifying approvals risks early and designing pragmatic mitigation strategies to support project delivery outcomes
Preparation of high-quality approvals documentation
Supporting approvals delivery across Iluka’s broader project portfolio, including interstate collaboration and peak workload sharing
Completing desktop and due diligence assessments to inform project feasibility, compliance and approvals requirements
Providing environmental guidance to Iluka project and operational teams to ensure compliance
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in a similar role
Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
Strong working knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and regulatory processes
Thorough understanding of principles of environmental impact assessment and environmental management
Broad knowledge of mining and minerals processing and associated environmental considerations
Demonstrated ability to manage time, budget and quality of deliverables
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS
Current C Class Driver’s Licence
