About the role
This role is responsible for developing and delivering targeted support to individuals, households, and communities to strengthen disaster resilience and preparedness. You will work directly with communities and sector stakeholders to increase understanding of disaster impacts, promote preparedness and resilience measures, and support the psychosocial wellbeing of people affected by disasters.

Senior Officer - Resilience - Urban Climate Resilience Program
- Full time, maximum term role until 30 April 2027
- Blacktown, Sydney location
- Hybrid work, 2 days per week in office (choose your days!)

What you will bring
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in disaster resilience, emergency management, community development, or a related field
- Strong skills in developing and facilitating training, workshops, and community resources
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Sound analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving ability, with confidence using data to inform practice
- The ability to work with autonomy, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communities
- Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships across sectors
- Relevant qualifications in emergency management, community development, social sciences, or equivalent experience
