SEO Specialist
We're looking for a freelance / contract SEO specialist who knows that strategy only works when the execution is airtight. You'll be managing SEO delivery across a set of assigned client accounts, working within an established framework that tells you where to go, but relying on your own skill and judgment to get there.
This role suits someone who is highly organised, technically strong, and takes pride in doing thorough work across multiple accounts. You'll work alongside our writers, developers, and designers to make sure everything that goes live is optimised, on brief, and on time.
Responsibilities
SEO execution
Execute the agency's SEO strategy across a set of assigned client accounts, ensuring monthly deliverables are completed on time and to standard
Conduct SEO audits, produce clear prioritized fix lists for developers, write implementation briefs, and QA all work once complete
Apply the agency's topic framework to each client, identifying content themes to build out and developing copy briefs that reflect each client's ranking priorities
Optimize on-page elements and manage internal linking across client sites
Execute local SEO initiatives
Run competitor analysis to identify where clients are falling behind and surface opportunities to act on
Assist with identifying opportunities for the creation of content assets for clients
Plan and apply AEO and GEO process across accounts to maintain client visibility in AI-generated search results
Analyze content performance across rankings, engagement, and conversions
Set performance benchmarks and forecast SEO outcomes
Reporting and client management
Assist with monthly client performance reports and mid-month internal performance reports
Join client calls to present performance results, and assist with follow-ups and ongoing communication between calls
Operations
Coordinate with the broader team that includes writers, developers and designers to keep SEO production on schedule, and review relevant outputs before they go live
Follow existing internal SOPs consistently but flag where something in the process is not working, assist with creating new SOPs for SEO processes
Own hardware required
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in an agency managing multiple accounts
Familiarity with CRO principles and how SEO performance connects to conversion and vice versa
Familiarity with entity-based SEO and how it affects search visibility
Proven track record of delivering organic growth for clients through disciplined execution
Strong technical SEO knowledge including crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture
Ability to write precise, unambiguous briefs for a developer, and QA their work effectively
Familiarity with AEO and GEO and how AI tools surface and cite content
Strong topic research skills with a solid understanding of search intent
Comfortable working within an established strategic framework and applying it across multiple accounts
Proficiency in SEO software suites, Google Search Console, GA4, and Screaming Frog or equivalent
Experience in executing local SEO campaigns
Ability to produce clear monthly reports and present them confidently to clients along with other team members
Comfortable owning client-facing calls and managing ongoing client relationships
Excellent written English for client communication and internal briefing
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management
Strong enough judgment to know when something needs to be escalated versus handled independently
Comfortable working remotely and independently without close supervision
Experience using AI tools to improve research, briefing, or reporting workflows
Proven success in B2B market sectors
