Social Media Content Creator- Arc Stores
Purpose of the Role
Conceptualise, shoot, and edit scroll-stopping, platform-native, locally relevant Social Media Content across ARC’s social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, to increase reach and engagement, and build brand love.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Content creation: Conceptualise and shoot a minimum of 30 pieces of high-quality, error-free photo and video content each month, to be used across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Including:
(a) Filming and editing short-form video content for ARC’s Reels, TikToks and Stories.
(b) Capturing and posting behind-the-scenes, eventing, and in-store content in real-time.
(c) Managing relationships with in-store staff, ensuring they will collaborate and be part of your content when needed.
(d) Designing static content using Canva (or similar tool).
(e) Copywriting, proof reading + fact checking your social media content.
(f) Suggesting new content types to utilise on ARC’s social media pages.
(g) Appearing on camera if/when needed.
- Report back weekly on content performance, in collaboration with the Social Media Lead, and optimise your content based on these insights (views, engagement, saves, shares).
- Collaborate with marketing, PR, and brand teams to find ways to bring campaigns to life socially.
- Stay up to date with trends, memes, and platform updates and translate them into on-brand content.
- Ensure all content aligns with the ARC’s brand tone and visual identity.
KPIs
- Deliver a minimum of 30 pieces of content a month, with no more than two rounds of changes required per content piece on average.
- Identify and implement at least 2 new and relevant content trends per month.
- Achieve or exceed the targets set for reach / views / % seconds of content consumed (dependent on each campaign objectives).
KEY CHALLENGES
- Coping with tight deadlines, and a large workload.
- Pivoting quickly if plans change around launch dates, campaigns, promos etc.
- Very quick turnaround times for creating, editing and changes.
- Communicating with a small team.
· Understanding the boundaries of global brand requests versus local market knowledge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–3 years' experience in social media content creation.
- Proven experience creating content that performs (portfolio and links required).
- Strong video filming and editing skills (using CapCut, InShot, Canva or similar).
· Directing: Comfortable being both behind and in front of the camera.
· Copywriting + sub-editing.
- Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram platforms, trends, memes and key-players.
- Strong attention to detail.
- An eye for aesthetics, storytelling, and brand tone.
- Passion for beauty industry + pop culture trends.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to move at speed.
Basic understanding of social analytics tools and reporting.
Pay: R15 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Johannesburg, Gauteng
