Social Media Executive
Role Overview
GLASGOW BASED!
As Marketing & Social Media Executive, you will not be the primary hands-on editor, but you must have strong content creation experience to brief effectively, shoot original content weekly, and edit on an ad hoc basis when required.
Your core mission is to manage a remote editing team by providing clear, organised briefs, quality-controlling all delivered content, and then scheduling and publishing everything across client social platforms. You will also monitor performance, adapt briefs to improve engagement, and deliver monthly reports.
Key Responsibilities
Content Briefing & Creative Direction
- Create detailed briefs for stories, social platform posts, Reels, and carousel posts across all clients
- Provide clear guidelines on tone, format, hooks, captions, and visual direction to the remote editing team
- Translate client brand identities and campaign goals into actionable briefs
Shooting & Asset Management
- Shoot original content on location twice a week (e.g., venues, events, product shots, talent content)
- Upload all raw footage and grant organised access to the remote editing team
- Manage and maintain all raw assets in clearly labelled folders by date and client to ensure an organised, searchable library
Managing Remote Editing Team
- Assign briefs to the remote team in a structured, timely manner
- Receive completed content from editors and conduct full quality control (QC)
- Provide clear, constructive feedback and request revisions where needed
Posting, Scheduling & Approval Workflow
- Once content is approved, place all final assets into a social plan with completed captions and copy where necessary
- Pass the final social plan to internal stakeholders or clients for approval
- After approval, schedule all posts and upload stories across all brand accounts
Performance Monitoring & Adaptation
- Monitor daily engagement, reach, and performance metrics across all platforms
- Use insights to continuously adapt and refine briefs for improved engagement
- Produce monthly performance reports covering key metrics, insights, and recommendations
Ad Hoc Editing
- When required, step in to edit content directly (video or static) to meet urgent deadlines or specific creative needs
Key Requirements
- Proven experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms
- Strong understanding of what makes engaging Reels, carousels, and Stories
- Organised and methodical – able to manage multiple client folders, briefs, and deadlines
- Experience managing or coordinating remote creative teams is a plus
- Comfortable shooting content on a smartphone or camera twice weekly
- Basic-to-intermediate editing skills for ad hoc tasks
- Analytical mindset with ability to report on performance monthly
Pay: £24,500.00-£27,000.00 per year
