The Trauma Therapist Institute© (TTI) is a psychotherapy continuing education institute dedicated to advancing the field of trauma treatment through science-backed, inclusive, and accessible training. TTI provides EMDR training, advanced trauma training courses, and consultation programs for licensed mental health professionals across the United States and internationally.

Position Summary
The Social Media Specialist owns TTI’s organic social media presence, content strategy, and online community. This is not a post-and-ghost role — we’re looking for someone who thinks strategically, shows up as a true team member, and understands that in the therapist education space, community and relationship are everything. This role starts is 20-25 hours per week with strong potential to grow into a full-time role within 3–6 months.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Strategy & Growth
- Own TTI’s social media strategy across all active platforms
- Drive platform growth with quality, authentic content and meaningful engagement — not just follower counts
- Identify relevant social trends and audience interests within the therapist education and mental health professional market
- Identify high-performing content trends and engagement patterns and apply those insights to ongoing strategy
- Proactively bring new content ideas, platform trends, and growth opportunities to the team
- Understand the nuances of relationship-driven marketing within the therapist education space
- Think creatively while maintaining a strategic and results-driven approach
Content Creation & Publishing
- Draft social media posts aligned with TTI’s voice, values, and campaign calendar
- Submit posts for review and approval prior to publishing
- Utilize HubSpot scheduling tools to connect social content to active campaigns and track engagement
Community Strategy & Engagement
- Own the strategy for TTI’s online community
- Collaborate with customer service/operations for community execution
- Support planning and promotion of live Q&As, partnership webinars, and consultant engagement initiatives
- Help strengthen audience trust, retention, and long-term community engagement through consistent, thoughtful interaction
Video Content Strategy
- Own the strategy for quality, engaging video content across platforms
- Develop engaging short-form and long-form video content strategies that serve both community growth and on-demand content goals
- Integrate video strategy with community initiatives and clinical content
- Collaborate on content planning aligned with launches, campaigns, and community initiatives
Performance & Data Ownership
- Own social media metrics end-to-end — understand the KPIs and what drives them
- Apply platform-specific best practices and content optimization knowledge to continually improve performance
- Use data and engagement insights to guide future content decisions and platform strategy
- Show up to team meetings prepared and willing to share performance data, insights, and recommendations
Collaboration & Team Contribution
- Integrate and collaborate cross-functionally with the TTI team on campaigns, launches, and community initiatives
- Work with partnership contacts on co-marketing, webinars, and collaborative content opportunities
- Proactively raise issues and concerns, and offer proposed solutions
- Operate as a true team member with ownership and accountability.
- Demonstrate alignment with TTI’s core organizational values in all interactions
Technology & Platform Fluency
- Willingness to dive into TTI’s tech stack and learn internal tools
- Comfortable learning and utilizing evolving social media, AI, and scheduling tools
- Ability to utilize platform analytics and reporting tools effectively across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience managing social media strategy and content for a brand, organization, or professional community
- Demonstrated ability to grow and engage audiences with authentic, strategic content
- Strong understanding of platform-specific best practices (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Experience with content scheduling tools; HubSpot or comparable platform experience preferred
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt voice and tone across platforms
- Comfort with video content strategy, including short-form and long-form formats
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to guide content and strategy decisions
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in health, wellness, mental health, or professional/continuing education markets a plus
- Experience building and managing online communities
- Familiarity with HubSpot marketing tools
- Video editing or production experience
- Experience with AI-powered content tools

Health Insurance Stipend
TTI offers an optional health insurance stipend of up to $350/month for employees who are not covered under another health insurance plan (e.g., a spouse’s or parent’s employer plan) and who independently enroll in and maintain a qualifying individual health insurance policy.
To receive the stipend, employees must (1) certify they are not enrolled in another group or employer-sponsored plan, and (2) provide proof of their individual plan enrollment. The stipend is paid as a separate taxable reimbursement upon submission of documentation.

TTI currently has payroll established in the following states. We strongly prefer to hire candidates residing in one of these states:

Candidates residing in other states may be considered on a case-by-case basis pending confirmation that TTI can establish payroll compliance in that state.
