About the Role
We are seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of environmentally sustainable design (ESD) projects while supporting the growth of emerging specialist service areas within EMERGEN.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering sustainability consulting services across commercial, residential, and public infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to Residential and Commercial compliance assessments.
- Support energy modelling, life cycle assessments (LCA), and building performance simulations to optimise sustainability outcomes.
- Assist in daylight, microclimate, and façade performance assessments.
- Prepare project reports, visual representations, and digital deliverables that communicate sustainability outcomes and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior consultants and multidisciplinary teams to integrate sustainability into design and construction.
Support internal growth areas, including:
- Condensation risk analysis and condensation consulting
- Air tightness consulting, including calculations, modelling, and reports
- Low‑VOC and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) testing and reporting
- Contribute to internal R&D initiatives to expand EMERGEN’s sustainability service offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
- A recognised degree in civil engineering, architecture, or equivalent.
- With at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the related field

Skills & Expertise
- A strong interest in energy analysis, building physics, and life cycle assessment (LCA).
- Experience or willingness to develop skills in IESve, BetterBuilding, FirstRate5, HERO OneClick, eTool, or similar tools.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, collaboration, and technical research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, engaging with clients, and presenting sustainability strategies.
