ERI’s sustainability team supports legislative compliance, circularity services, public affairs, environmental impact reporting, and research and development. As ERI continues to grow domestically and internationally, we are looking for a Sustainability & Public Affairs Specialist to help advance our sustainability programs, regulatory reporting, and emerging market initiatives.
Position Summary
The Sustainability & Public Affairs Specialist will work closely with key internal teams and report directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer. This role supports regulatory analysis, environmental impact reporting, client and agency reporting, ESG and sustainability inquiries, stakeholder engagement, circularity initiatives, and research related to critical minerals, rare earth elements, and emerging recycling markets.
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable managing large datasets while communicating clearly with clients, regulatory agencies, partners, and cross-functional teams. This position requires a strong interest in sustainability, recycling policy, ESG trends, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
· Manage relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, domestic and international partners, and internal stakeholders.
· Plan, implement, track, and evaluate program scopes, schedules, metrics, and benchmarks.
· Represent ERI in conferences, stakeholder meetings, working groups, and other public settings.
· Prepare regulatory reports, sustainability reports, client-requested reporting, RFQ responses, and ESG-related information.
· Generate, analyze, and refine weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for internal and external use.
· Support Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews, strategic plans, action plans, and program budgets as needed.
· Analyze recycling market trends, circularity protocols, ESG and sustainability regulations, certifications, frameworks, and emerging technologies.
· Monitor international, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
· Research and organize information related to critical minerals, rare earth elements, and other materials relevant to ERI’s operations and future opportunities.
· Identify opportunities to improve ERI’s service offerings, environmental impact reporting, sustainability programs, and circularity initiatives.
· Support grant proposal development, review, and implementation for ERI research and development technologies.
· Communicate compliance issues, manage corrective actions, support project handoffs, and share ideas for efficiency and continuous improvement.
· Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations and standards.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
