Description
The Sustainability Packaging Team Lead will lead impactful work that enables clients to reduce the environmental footprint of packaging while supporting broader sustainability goals. He will play a key role in delivering high-quality consulting and managed services across packaging initiatives and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs, working with clients that range from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups and boutique brands.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of engineers delivering packaging solutions as a managed service- Oversee multiple projects concurrently across diverse clients and technical areas
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and client relationships
- Ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard
- Conduct research, data collection, and analysis; engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Produce high-quality reports and presentations to support strategic decision-making
- Perform data analysis to identify gaps and develop sound assumptions and methodologies
- Conduct landscape reviews, including analysis of:
o Packaging regulations and EPR requirements
- Perform quantitative modelling, including packaging footprint assessments
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to capability building
- Support business development efforts with both new and existing clients
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
With 4+ years of professional experience (packaging, sustainability, or consulting experience preferred)- Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Understanding of packaging materials, technical attributes, and applications
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for packaging materials and systems
- Experience with LCA tools and carbon accounting standards (preferred)
- Advanced analytical skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with tools such as SQL Server, Power BI, or NetSuite (a plus)
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Demonstrated experience in client management and/or business development
- Ability to work effectively in virtual, global teams across time zones
