Do you have a drive to grow our Local Fundraising to grow St John and ensure its future? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to join the team as a Network Community Lead.
Duties
- Overseeing the booking, scheduling and delivery of community first aid education for your Network
- Engaging with training deliverers to ensure that courses and sessions are facilitated, venues are booked, and equipment is accessible
- Overseeing community education courses and seeking advice and best practice from relevant teams to ensure sessions are delivered to a high quality and in a safe learning environment
- Working with other volunteers in the network to support the recruitment and training of volunteers to deliver community education
- Coordinating and leading fundraising activity for your network, developing fundraising plans and ensuring activities adhere to organisational policy and Fundraising Code of Conduct
- Leading, or supporting the recruitment of fundraising volunteers for your network, working with others on the Network Leadership Team to achieve this
- Supporting the promotion of local, regional and national fundraising campaigns and activities
- Work closely with the County Fundraising and Priory Lead, and the Community Fundraising Manager for your region to maximise efforts and impact
- Engaging with, and encouraging others to engage with schools, businesses, and community groups to promote first aid awareness and training
- Working with the Regional Public Relations contacts to share strong, positive, local news stories to raise awareness of St John’s work in the community
- Attending community education meetings and network leadership meetings as necessary to give updates and be supported by your volunteer colleagues
- Empower the use of sustainable and ethical practices to support St John’s commitments to environmental and financial sustainability
- Join in with the Community Delivery national community of practice to share best practices, advocate for volunteer interests and concerns, and lead on the communication and implementation of national initiatives
You will need to have the following (personal specification)
- High levels of communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work as an effective team member
- Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload and delegate tasks
- Ability to use a range of Microsoft Office applications
- A demonstrable respect for equity and diversity Experience of delivering St John Ambulance community education (Optional)
- Experience in leading and motivating volunteers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment (Optional)
